I recently read an outstanding book that I think you might love.
‘The Mother of all Jobs’ is an excellent book about the challenges (to put it mildly!) and delights that come with juggling work-life with kid-life.
Brilliantly written by Christine Armstrong, it’s packed full of stories from parents talking about how they have tried (and sometimes failed) to make it work. Some are laugh-out-loud hilarious, while others recount painful experience.
The core idea of the book is the same idea that motivated me to start My Kids Village in the first place. It highlights the mis-match that we live with today from our traditional working week combined with the school days and term structure. It’s a broken system and one that I am really motivated to change!
My Kids Village helps by offering you great information about relevant childcare options, as you manage that juggle every day.
So, once you’ve got your holiday programmes sorted for the summer, I suggest you grab a copy of this refreshingly honest book.
If you’re looking for a holiday read that will give you a good laugh and leave you cheering, “That’s exactly it!” and “It’s like she’s been spying on my life!”, then I suggest you give it a go.
Happy holidays everyone!
